Angle Grinder
A grinder is a hand held power tool used for cutting or burnishing metal or masonry, it can have many uses in many industries and is a very commonly used power tool.
A grinder employs a rotary cutting disc to grind away at the surface or material. There are several kinds of cutting discs required for the particular job or material you wish to cut. Be sure to ask a professional for advice. For example a grinder disc used for masonry work will wear out rapidly if used to cut metal and is a waste.
A grinder is often used by metal sculptors to cut large pieces of sheet metal or cut through heavy steel. A grinder can also be used by a stonemason to cut and shape soft stone. A grinder can also be used to buff and polish surfaces.
WARNING! A grinder is an extremely dangerous power tool. When using a grinder be sure that you are wearing heavy duty cotton jeans, do not wear flamable nylon. Always protect your eyes with goggles. If working with stone be sure to also wear a breathing mask, breathing in stone dust can cuase permanent damage to your lungs. Keep your work area clean and clear at all times and ensure the power cord is leading to the grinder from behind/beside you, never from in front of you. Keep a firm grip on the grider as it can kick back unexpectedly. Always unplug a grinder when it is not in use and never use it when animals or children are near by.
