An Aniline Dye is any type of dyes which is a derivative of aniline. Aniline is produced from coal tar. Aniline Dyes begun being used in Europe in the 1850's as inexpensive alternatives to vegetable based dyes & pigments and were most commonly used for dying fabrics and wools for clothing and rugs.
