Crushed Glass
Crushed glass is often produced as a by-product of other manufacturing processes or as a recycled product. It has many different uses across many industries
In artistic applications crushed glass is great for impasto painting techniques, often finely crushed and tumbled glass particles is a common ingredient in some painting mediums such as texture paste. Try adding crushed glass to an impasto gel or painting medium of your choice to create texture. Other products that can be used in a similar way are Mica and Glitter.
WARNING: If you experiment with crushed glass, wear protective gloves and a breathing mask! Fine dust particles of glass are extremely dangerous and will damage your lungs if breathed in.
Crushed Glass, sometimes called Glass Sand can be purchased in small bags from some art supplies stores where it has been colored and graded.
