Drafting Table
A drafting table is a special drawing table where the drawing surface can be adjusted to various heights and angles for the convenience of easy drawing. Commonly a good drafting table will also have a detachable sliding frame upon which adjustable rulers can be mounted.
The name 'drafting table' stems from their use by architects and engineers and other professionals who engage in drafting plans. Whilst these industries have almost completely migrated to the use of AutoCAD - a drafting computer program, many graphic designers and artists continue to appreciate drafting tables for their ergonomic qualities.
