Figurative Art, is any art from which there are recognisable representations of figures, animals and other natural or man-made objects.

The term Representational Art means exactly the same thing.

Commonly figurative art is sometimes mistakenly assumed to mean art in which human figures are depicted, however, figuration is the making of form or figures.

Considerations of perspective, proportion, anatomy, and volume are all intimately connected with figurative art, and figure drawing is an essential keystone. From the dawn of time figurative art has been the prevalent approach to art.
