Film is a thin sheet of flexible cellulose coated in light sensitive materials used in photography. Most commonly found in rolls referred to as 35mm. For most home photography the digital camera is rapidly making film obsolete, but artists and professional photographers value the beauty and unique characteristics of images made on conventional film and developed in the darkroom. This becomes apparent in large enlargements or in beautiful silver gelatin prints made for exhibition.
