A paper product that is used commonly in picture framing. Foam board is sometimes called foam core. It is comprised of a very thin slice of soft foam with firm paper adhered to each side. Foam board is used as a support on which artwork can be presented cheaply for exhibitions. It is also used as a backing support when framing works on paper because it supports the back of the artwork and forms a protective barrier.
