The most important ingredient in the artistic mix, yet the most mysterious and elusive. It costs nothing except your sensitivity and heart, can be found anywhere and yet sometimes seems to be nowhere. Its original meaning was ‘to breath life into’ which is exactly what it does for your artwork. It is least likely to be found when you are desperately looking, but instead appears when least expected. When inspiration is most needed relax and do some simple drawing, remember that big things grow out of small things, so do small things, and allow your unconscious mind mull over things. Inspiration is easier to come by the more work you do.
