What is a Plinth?
A plinth is the name of a structure used in architecture. A plinth is the base or platform on which a column, statue or monument is situated. For fine art it is commonly a timber display stand for sculptures.
A Plinth is simply a display stand on which a sculpture will be displayed. Commonly plinths used at art galleries are simply a wooden box that stands about waist height and painted white.
A carpenter can manufacture a timber plinth to your specifications and some Easel Manufacturers will also manufacturer plinths for sale. Plinths and other display stands can also be hired from companies that specialize in Exhibition Services or Display Equipment.
