Printmaking
Printmaking is any manual hand made printing process used to reproduce an artistic image or design.
Printmaking is considered a fine art process, however many forms of printmaking are used mechanically for commercial purposes too.
Printmaking has had a longer history in the orient than in the West. From the high Renaissance when engraving first was invented, European artists have turned the reproductive techniques into more creative fine arts this happened as printmaking evolved as a way that artists could make art work to sell, and prints being cheap to make were more likely to sell due to their low cost.
