Promotion
The weakest link for most artists is effective promotion of their work. Artwork does not sell itself and requires tenacious work to get work seen and to turn it into a desirable commodity for collectors so that you can pay the rent doing the work that you love. There is no reason the artist needs to be a lonely genius hidden in a garret.
Artists need exhibitions and Websites to sell work from. The Website is basic and helps when introducing one self to gallery directors. Once your exhibition is up learn to phone journalists. Be prepared to tell them why your exhibition out of all the others is the best one for them to see and write about. As they say, don’t hide your light under a bushel. Building your career as an artist is in your hands.
