Texture Gel
Texture Gel is primarily used as a painting medium to give the paint a greater body, thickness without necessarily changing the textural qualities of the paint. Texture Gel generally increases paint viscosity, where texture paste may reduce viscosity.
Some acrylic paints come pre-mixed with texture-gel qualities that aid in the acrylic paint to keep its boy once dry, rather than subsiding... these qualities are particularly helpful for artists creating impasto painting.
Artistically speaking you can use almost any gel like substance as a texture gel, as an artist you are free to experiment!
