Vector drawing software like Illustrator or Freehand are favourite drawing tools for graphic artists on the computer. Vector paths are based in mathematics and because of this they have unique properties when drawing. Most significantly the lines can be resized without loss of quality. Thus an artist can make an image on a desktop, an have it blown up to billboard size, or reduced to postage stamp size. This is extraordinarily useful in advertising and graphic design.
